Dr. De Giovanni graduated with an honors degree in psychology at the University of Malta in 1997 attaining the shield for best dissertation. She then followed a PGCE in Primary Education specializing in inclusion in 1998. In 2000, she trained as a Let Me Learn Trainer and Consultant both in Malta and at Rowan University, USA. Dr. De Giovanni is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist and Scientist having read for an MSc in Occupational Psychology between 2001 and 2003 at the School of Management and Organizational Psychology, University of London. She also holds a Fellowship from the British Psychological Society and a PhD in from the University of Nottingham where she specialized on School to Work Transitions. Dr De Giovanni also holds the ATCL and ALCM in pianoforte performance and was the first Maltese person to qualify with an FTCL in Music Education. She is former chair of the Board of Directors of the Social Care Standards Authority and the Malta Psychology Profession Board. Dr De Giovanni is a motivational coach and organizational consultant but is primarily a resident academic within the Department of Psychology, Faculty for Social Wellbeing at the University of Malta. She also directs the University of Malta Cottonera Resource Centre at the University of Malta. Dr. De Giovanni is also a Visiting Professor in Organizational Psychology at the Universita’ degli Studi, Padova. She is also an elected member of the House of Representatives in Malta where she is Head of Delegation for the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean and member on the social, family and government welfare committees.
